Rental Agreements at a glance

What the app does, who it is for, and how an agreement goes from template to signed PDF.

Rental Agreements is a phone app for creating, customizing, and signing rental agreements, for anything you rent out: a flat or a room, a holiday home, a bike, a kayak, a camera, tools, a car, a venue, or a parking space.

It is made for people and small businesses who rent things out: private landlords, rental shops, tour and activity organizers, venue hosts, clubs, and communities. It is not property-management software: there are no bookings, calendars, rent collection, or accounting.

How it works

  1. Pick a template. Start from a built-in template or one of your own. A template holds the agreement text, the details to fill in, and the people who sign, such as Lessor and Renter.
  2. Fill in the details. Enter the rental details, then the details of each person. Everything saves as you type. Attach items from your catalog, add photos, and preview the document at any time.
  3. Sign. Sign together on your phone, or email a private signing link to each person, who signs on their own phone or computer without an account or app.
  4. Keep and share the signed document. When everyone has signed, the app creates the final PDF. Export it as a PDF or as JPG images. People who signed by email get their own copy by email.

Who needs what

You, the owner of the agreement, need an account. The other people in an agreement, such as renters, tenants, guests, guarantors, or witnesses, don’t need an account or the app.

Platforms and languages

  • iPhone and iPad, Android phones and tablets.
  • The app is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Italian, Polish, Turkish, Dutch, and Japanese. It follows the device language, or you can pick one in Settings.
  • Built-in templates are available in every app language, except the country-specific residential leases: the US leases are in English and the German leases in German. Your own templates can be written in any language.
Electronic signatures are legally recognized for most rental agreements in many countries, including under the US ESIGN Act and the EU’s eIDAS regulation. Some agreements or places need other formalities, such as a qualified electronic signature, witnesses, or notarization. Rental Agreements does not give legal advice.
